I am a Carolina Satyr

I prefer shady areas to sun

I have 6 hindwing eyespots and circles

Split into groups of two and then one.

I am a Carolina Satyr

I feed on tree sap and rotting fruit

I can produce up to three broods annually

So it's common to see me patrolling in hot pursuit.

I am a Carolina Satyr

I fly low to the ground in a slow, bouncy fashion

On my under wings I have yellow-rimmed eyespots,

And two dark brown lines and two dark brown dashes.
