I am a male Eastern Towhee
I tend to be quite solitary
I don't like company
From other Towhees
I'll make a threat display if they don't leave voluntarily.

I am an Eastern Towhee
My mate and I are often victims of Cowbirds
They steal our eggs
And throw them away
And leave their eggs in our nest, those cowards!

I am known as a female Eastern Towhee
If I was male, my head and wings would be black
I stay close to the ground, and fling sand all around
Doing a two-footed dance that's a little bit whack.

(Click the photo to enlarge - you can see the sand flying but her feet were going too fast to be caught by the camera. The top half was still though, she totally had a Riverdance thing  going on.)

Eastern Towhee - Pipilo erythrophthalmus
I am an Eastern Towhee
I'm black, white and reddish brown
I can be found in Florida throughout the year
And further north when I want to get down.

Location: Cape Cod, MA

(Note: I'm feeling a little homesick, so I thought I'd dedicate this week to the last time I had a real vacation with my sibs when we went to Cape Cod in July of 2016. Enjoy the trip up north!)

I am an adult Eastern Towhee,
I live in Florida, so I have white eyes
If I lived further north, my eyes would be red
But I'd still have a dark head and roufus sides.

I am an immature Eastern Towhee,
I sing the same song as my dad and mum
I look nondescript like a sparrow unless,
I'm flying away, then you'll see white near my bum.
