I am a Six-lined Racerunner

It's easy to confuse me with Skinks

Bad lighting makes me look dark here

But Skinks have 5 lines and I have six.

I am a Six-lines Racerunner

I can live from savannahs to woodlands and dunes

You might seen be dashing about in the morning

But I seek shelter in the hot afternoon.

I am a male Six-lined Racerunner,

My long tail helps me run fast.

I can lose my tail if a predator attacks

But till it grows back, I'll always place last.
