This plant is Golden Canna

It is good for preventing soil erosion

It's also a host for Skipper caterpillars

But it's cold-sensitive and it's roots can get frozen.

Location: Fellsmere, Rails to Trails

This is Canna flaccida
The yellow's not petals, they are stamens
This plant is also called Golden Canna
In terms of the laymen.
