I am a female Broad-billed Hummingbird

I'm small with a long, straight bill

My mate is much brighter colored than I

So I'm a bit less predator imperiled.

I'm either female or immature

If you wait a few months and my colors are bright,

Then I'm male, you will know for sure.

I am a male Broad-billed Hummingbird

I have an orange beak, and shiny blue and green feathers

I drink nectar and eat insects from flowers

And I am also a mountain dweller.
