I'm cleaning up my new house

Cleaning is never a pleasant chore

But it's worse when use your mouth!

I am a Troglodytes aedon

Known as a House Wren, more commonly

"Trōglē" comes the Greek word that means "hole"

I'm known to nest in woodpecker cavities.

So called because I live near humans in suburbia

I'm pretty small and weigh 10 to 12 grams

Picking me up won't give you a hernia.

Sometimes mites attack my babies in my nest

So I invite some spiders to live with me

And they eat those nasty mite pests.

In summer I sing happy songs while hopping along,
But in winter I'm much more discrete.
