I am a Red-femured Spotted Orbweaver

In the summer I take down my web for the day

But it's colder now, 

There's not as much food around

So I leave my web up to catch prey.

I'm known as a Red-femured Spotted Orbweaver

Part of my leg is red, but not all

I am widespread throughout the United States

But in the south I'm larger, like an 8 legged golf ball.

(Well, perhaps she wasn't as big as a golf ball, but this was one of the largest ones I've seen.)

Neoscona domiciliorum, specifically.
I can be found in most of the USA
But I'm mostly active nocturnally.
