I am known as a Painted Turtle
My front claws let you know I 'm a guy

They are long and unruly

But don't me judge unduly

In the swamp, there's no manicure supplies.

We are known as Painted Turtles

We have yellow and red markings on a green-brown background

We have a good sense smell and of color perception

But we're lacking in the ability to hear sounds.

I am a Painted Turtle

I can be found from Mexico to Canada

Some of us live 35 to 40 years

But not all of us have that kind of stamina.
