I am the largest of all of the swallows

If natural cavities don't exist I live

In boxes built by Martin aficionados.

We are juvenile Purple Martins

You can tell by our streaky grey breasts

The males amongst us will grow up to have iridescent feathers

And they will be less brightly colored if they live in the American southwest.
