I am known as a Cottonmouth snake

I'm venomous and a pit viper

I'm semi-aquatic and like to eat fish

And won't hurt humans unless I'm incited.

I am known as a Chicken Turtle

Some guess because my neck is long and thin

But more likely it's because settlers said that I:

"...taste better than the cooters – more like chicken."
