I'm an adult male Prairie Warbler

Cornell Lab refers to me as "dapper"

I take that as a compliment but feel a bit bad -

My wife and kids are much drabber.

I am an adult male Prairie Warbler

I like to pick insects from branches and leaves

If I am a migrant, I breed throughout the eastern US

If I'm resident, I breed in Florida Mangrove trees.

I am an adult male non-breeding Prairie Warbler

You can tell by my black eyeline and half eye ring.

If I was female my colors would be duller

Unlike me, my mate just ain't got that thing.

I am known as a Prairie Warbler,

But I don't live up to my name

I don't live on the prairie, I prefer forests or scrubs,

My population's in decline, what a shame!
