I am a White-breasted Nuthatch

In winter I forage with Titmice

They know where food's found

And when predators abound

There's safety in numbers, how nice!

I am a White-breasted Nuthatch

I got my name from the way that I eat

I stick an acorn in a tree,

Whack the acorn with my beak

Until the nut inside is "hatched" free.
