I am known as a Forster's Tern

I have long wings and short legs

I dive when I want to catch some prey and

Perform spiral courtship flights when I want eggs.

I am known as a Common Tern

So called because my population is so extensive

I can drink both fresh and salt water

My nasal glands excrete salt that's excessive.

I am an adult non-breeding Black Tern

If I was breeding my tummy would be black.

I'm agile and can catch both fish and insects

When I'm in the mood for a snack.

This was my first time in Florida

I was recognized by my huge bill and black crown.
