This is a Whitemouth Dayflower

You can grow them from seeds or tubers

Although each bud flowers for less than a day

They have many buds and are prolific bloomers.

This is the Whitemouth Dayflower

It's also called "Widow's Tears"

In Spanish, the name's "herb of the chicken"

At least that's what I hear.

Location: Maritime Hammock Sanctuary, Melbourne Beach

This is a Whitemouth Dayflower,
Birds like to eat its seeds
The flowers can be candied and eaten by humans
The leaves can be boiled or fried, as you please.

Location: Sebastian, Rails-to-Trails trail

This is known as a Whitemouth Dayflower
It is tiny and inconspicuous.
Except for the one day it flowers - 
Bright blue and white petals are hard to miss.
